Supply Chain Controller - Fareham
We have a role in Fareham for a manufacturer who are leaders in their field with products distributed globally, they mainly operate within the refrigeration sector.
Aside from an interesting role, you would be joining a stable and growing company, specialist training, free parking, half day on Fridays, 25-days holiday, Christmas shutdown, friendly/flexible working environment. Salary is up to £30'000 per annum but this depends on the level of experience.
What will you be doing?
Your main role would be to ensure continuity of parts / raw materials supplied to support manufacturing as well as the introduction of Best Practice programs i.e. DLF / Kan Ban / Consignment Stocking, you would do this by identifying and developing strategic suppliers as part of the company's sourcing strategy in order to maximize opportunity for cost reduction and achieving Quality standards.
Other aspects of your role would include:
- Ordering against MRP demand
- Sourcing new suppliers, negotiating and establishing supply contracts
- Creating & Controlling Consignment / Kan Ban / DLF systems
- Specific Supply Chain projects as required
- Constantly improving the quality and reliability of supply
- Procurement of products/components in new products/materials or engineering change projects. Including prototypes, tooling and pre-production batches
This would be ideal for someone who has experience within a similar role within Supply Chain, SAP experience would be great but other MRP systems will be considered as well.
Someone with a track record in strong negotiation skills and a commercial awareness, with a natural ability to build relationships. we are looking for someone who has experience in a technical industry, e.g. someone from building services, mechanical or electrical engineering.
