Job Description

We are recruiting experienced Support Workers to work alongside one of two clients located in East Sussex, these clients currently manage an outstanding transportation service for patients who are looking to leave the hospital and resettle back in their homes.

You will be supporting a client who promises to put patients who need them at the heart of what they do, you will provide both physical as well as emotional support which can make a vital difference to someone's day and you will be assisting them where needed to ensure they continue to live at home in comfort.

Are you looking to work during the week? Maybe only on weekends or every other week? What about during holidays or maybe only a few days per week? No problem! We want you to have full control of how little or much you want to work on a weekly basis which is why we will provide you with an excellent selection of shifts throughout the week and over weekends for you to pick and choose, ensuring you have full work flexibility and great work-life balance!

Your typical responsibilities will include escorting patients to assigned departments in the hospital, assisting with collecting prescriptions from the pharmacy and potentially undertaking non-medical tasks given by management. You will be providing companionship to patients who may range from all age groups whilst waiting for their treatment or to be seen, you will provide emotional support where required for example towards family/friends and ensure that the patient you're with is comfortable at all times. You will be required to drive patients home from the hospital once they have been discharged, ensuring that they're safe and settled in their homes before leaving to return to the hospital. Ensuring they're settled in their homes might include performing tasks such as making them a cup of tea, helping them around the house for a short period of time or calling a loved one to inform them that they're home safe. You will be expected to complete light admin whilst on shift such as inputting information on the computer system after each drop-off and checking records are correct as well as any additional duties given by management.

We are incredibly proud of our Support Workers who continue to provide high-quality care on a daily basis, which is why we offer all of our staff a fantastic bundle of employee benefits which include weekly pay, excellent rates of pay, accruable holiday entitlement as well as a great pension scheme, online training with certificates given, a free Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS* plus friendly team of consultants available 24/7 to support you and much more.

Using your previous experience as a Support Worker, you will understand the importance of resilience, patience and reliability. You will be confident working in small teams, happy to work in fast-paced environments and able to use your initiative.

This position does require a full driving license.

You will need a minimum of six months experience within the care sector to be considered for the role.
