I am recruiting experienced Support Workers to join our growing team in providing assistance and companionship across East Sussex.

We support a range of services from Residential Children's Homes, Children's Services, Care Homes, Rehabilitation Services, Youth Centres, Adult Supported Living Services, Nurseries, Nursing Homes, Youth Hostels and Housing Projects.

We want you to have full control of how little or much you want to work which is why we will offer you a selection of shifts which include earlies, lates, long days, sleep-ins and wake nights across the entire week and weekends for you to pick from to ensure that you have full flexibility and a great work-life balance!

You will have the fantastic opportunity to work alongside a variety of service users, from working with Children and Young People who have come from traumatic backgrounds or Young Adults who have Learning Disabilities or PMLD and need day and night support. You may want to work with Young People and Adults who are at risk of homelessness or Adults recovering from brain relation injuries such as strokes, or maybe Elderly residents suffering from Dementia. We have a wide selection of client types that are available to you, meaning you can work with all types of service users whether you want to strengthen your current experience or work alongside a new client!

Your typical duties will vary depending on which service type you're attending, but general responsibilities will include assisting service users with their morning, evening or night routine whilst promoting independence at all times. You will provide both physical support such as assisting with household tasks and emotional support where needed plus assisting with health care needs such as accompanying them to appointments or administering medication where their care plan advises. Whilst on the shift you will be required to complete record-keeping tasks, updating logbooks, or answering the phone where needed. Depending on the client you're supporting you may be expected to assist with personal care aspects. You will constantly encourage them to develop their personal skills through interests and or hobbies as well teach important life skills such as shopping, preparing meals, using public transport or how to manage money carefully. You will participate in daily activities such as baking, gardening, or going into the community as well as other additional tasks which can be given by management whilst on shift.

With your previous experience as a Support Worker, you will already have those key skills needed such as the ability to communicate clearly, great time management, confidence working alone and as part of a team, ability to use your initiative and knowledge regarding standards expected within the care sector.

A minimum of six months paid experience within the care sector is required to be considered for the position.

The ability to drive is not essential for this position.
