Due to high demand, we are recruiting experienced Support Workers to join our excellent team and work alongside people with complex support needs who are at risk of homelessness within outstanding high support Hostels located in Brighton.
This service promises a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for people who are struggling with mental health, come from a traumatic background linked with substance misuse and those currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. You will play a key role in providing support, advice and guidance to help encourage each person to eventually move successfully into semi-independent or fully independent accommodation.

Typical duties include building patrols to ensure the environment is safe and secured, regularly checking CCTV throughout the shift and completing welfare checks on specific residents. You will actively promote the recovery programs available internally to all residents, work to increase self-esteem plus encourage them to participate in educational and voluntary assignments. Assisting with day-to-day operations, managing incoming telephone calls, updating the logbook where required and other light admin responsibilities alongside basic household tasks such as cleaning or cooking. You will participate in small group sessions, manage care plans for specific residents, teach valuable life skills to inspire independence and build positive relationships as well as any additional tasks given by management.

A minimum of six months paid experience within the care sector is required to be considered for the position.
The ability to drive is not essential for this position.
