Job Description

Support Worker Needed

Well established and reputable client is looking for a Support Worker for their maintained Special residential school for boys. The role of Support worker is one where you will continue to enhance your caring skills and be a role model for young people. You will make a positive impact on the lives of Young People, giving them the nurturing, care and boundaries that they need in order to navigate adolescence whilst working as part of the whole school team.

My client puts the well-being and needs of their residents at the heart of everything they do, so being calm and consistent in your practice is key in order to get the best outcomes for the Young People. You will be aware of and sensitive to social, emotional and mental health difficulties that the young people may experience.

You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Children and Young People in the Workforce qualification to be considered for this role or be willing to train towards one.

As well as a rewarding role on offer there is a competitive starting salary, rising to £21,166 with length in service, you will also benefit from school holidays for a great work and home life balance. To further enhance your earnings, you will also benefit from an additional financial allowance for Sleep Ins! A comprehensive training package is offered to further develop your career. You will also benefit from a cycle to work scheme and LGPS Pension scheme.

Being a good role model and mentor is key for this role as the Young People will look to you for guidance, support, and positive reassurance. Having significant experience working with young people with challenging behaviour and an empathetic nature you will encourage and enable the Young People to build meaningful relationships with the team, other professionals and their peers. You will support the Young People with their education provision and other fun, recreational and challenging activities and experiences so having a full driving license is an advantage for this role.
