Job Description

I am recruiting experienced Support Workers to join our growing team in providing assistance and companionship across East Sussex.

First People Recruitment has been working alongside a variety of diverse care services for many years, building strong and reliable working relationships which we are incredibly proud to share and offer you the fantastic opportunity to work alongside them as well! Whether you want to work alongside our Residential Children's Homes, Children's Services, Care Homes, Youth Centres, Adult Supported Living Services, Nurseries, Nursing Homes, Youth Hostels or our Housing Projects… We will offer you the chance to pick and choose what service type you'd like to support!

Are you looking to work during the week? Maybe only on weekends or every other week? What about only during holidays? No problem! We want you to have full control of how little or much you want to work which is why we will offer you earlies, late, long days, sleep-ins and wake nights across the entire week to ensure that you have full flexibility and a great work-life balance!

You will have the opportunity to support a variety of service users such as Elderly Residents, Vulnerable Adults with PMLD and or Physical Disabilities, residents suffering from Dementia or Sensory Impairments or other Health Conditions, Children and Young People who have come from a traumatic background or struggle with EBD, Young People at risk of homelessness, individuals struggling with Mental Health and more.

Your typical duties will vary depending on which service type you're attending, but general responsibilities will include assisting service users with their morning, evening or night routine whilst promoting independence at all times. You will provide both physical support such as assisting with household tasks and emotional support where needed plus assisting with health care needs such as accompanying them to appointments or administering medication where their care plan advises. Whilst on the shift you will be required to complete record-keeping tasks, updating logbooks, or answering the phone where needed. You will constantly encourage them to develop their personal skills through interests and or hobbies as well teach important life skills such as shopping, preparing meals, using public transport or how to manage money carefully. You will participate in daily activities such as baking, gardening, or going into the community as well as other additional tasks which can be given by management whilst on shift.

We are extremely proud of all our dedicated team, which is why we ensure to provide each of our Support Workers with a fantastic bundle of employee benefits. You will receive weekly pay, accruable holiday entitlement, a free Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS scheme*, option to be added onto a pension scheme, online training if required with certificates given to keep, excellent pay rates, a friendly team of consultants to support you and much more!

With your previous experience as a Support Worker you will already have those key skills needed such as the ability to communicate clearly, great time management, confidence working alone and as part of a team, ability to use your initiative and knowledge regarding standards expected within the care sector.

A minimum of six months paid experience within the care sector is required to be considered for the position.

The ability to drive is not essential for this position.
