Job Description
Due to continued growth a local manufacturer supplying the construction industry are looking for a Commercial Surveyor to join a friendly, hard working team to work in a fast-paced environment who operate with in he Construction and M&E industries.
The Role
As a Commercial Surveyor you would provide commercial and financial support to all projects with particular responsibility to assist with order reconciliation through to tender, presentation of valuations, variations and final account agreement within the commercial division.
The department you would be working in is responsible for Commercial, Bid Management and Procurement Management of the UK business and your role forms part of the Commercial Team who are responsible for all the Commercial and Financial aspects related to projects from Tender negotiation through to Final Account settlement.
Other aspects of your role would see you using your skills to carry out the following:-
- Risk Management (assist in the reconciliation of Orders against Tender, identify and measure changes during contract progress, maximise valuations, Pre order contract/Spec/Scope & review of contract terms).
- Liaise with Project/Site Management on Contract Progress, assist PM in the control of costs against budget, production of Forecast Final Accounts.
- Prepare and issue timely and accurate applications for payment, prepare and agree interim Valuations, identify and resolve differences in valuations, negotiate and progress the resolution of disputes.
- Prepare and issue monthly validation reports identifying under or over valuations against payment applicationsfor project reviews, prepare and issue monthly financial reports forecasting Final Account values contribution and cash flow.
The salary for this role is circa £25000 - £27000 per annum and will be based in Petersfield, there is onsite parking and a great pension scheme plus 25 days holiday (plus B/H).
Role requirements
Good understanding and experience of commercial finance preferably within the Construction or Construction services Industry.
Knowledge of HVAC industry or similar
Knowledge of Specialist sub-contracting
Excellent communication skills.
Well organised
Currently studying or willing to study to become a member of an approved institute for Quantity Surveyors
