Job Description

A residential school for children with EBD and challenging behaviour based in Lewes, East sussex is recruiting for a team leader to join the existing team and manage a team of carers in a school based residential setting.

As the Team Leader for the care home you will be required to support, manage and co-ordinate a range of operational and strategic activities in order to ensure the standards of care provided meet statutory obligations.

You will play a key supporting role to the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering the core operational service of the home as well as enabling stated operating objectives to be achieved as related to the Statement of Purpose.

You will have the ability to work with all levels of the staff team and external agencies as well as demonstrating excellent communication and relationship management skills. They will need to display a thorough understanding of the Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards and have previous managerial experience at implementing and monitoring national standards in the day to day operations of a residential setting.

You will also play an instrumental role in working with each individual young person to create positive outcomes in terms of social, educational, emotional and physical development and health and wellbeing.

It will be your duty to safeguard and protect children and young people in our care. The Team Leader in ensuring that child safeguarding is an integral part of the working practice of the staff team. You will also ensure that the child safeguarding policy and procedure are effectively implemented and that all staff are aware of their role and responsibilities in terms of safe practice and vigilance.

This is a permanent 52 week per year full time role, invlolves working shifts and sleep in duties. A great oppourtunity to work in a well established enviornment.
