Job Description

Are you an experienced Technical Buyer looking for your next contract? Do you want to work for a multi-billion-pound International company with a half day Friday? Is Hastings somewhere you have always wanted to work?

If you have experience of working in a small team dealing with commodities, supply chain strategies & project timelines then I want to hear from you! Lasting 6-12 months, it is a good contract.

About the job

You will need to be comfortable communicating accurately and effectively across all levels of business, focusing on supplier management, supplier quality and supplier performance improvement. With responsibility for analysing current and future data, developing process improvements and managing change, this is a critical role in liaison between departments and businesses to ensure strategic objectives are achieved.

This will see you liaising with Suppliers, Purchase/Company Timing and Engineering departments regarding the introduction/interchange ability of new parts and their status.

Also, you would be responsible for the preparation and publication within the supply base, the business and the group of transparent KPI's. From here you will be helping with TECH/ 8D reports. You will ensure that all necessary steps are taken when quality problems arise in a timely and controlled manner and always be approachable to your colleagues if any guidance or training is needed.

This company are looking for someone with experience in Supply Chain or Logistics within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment. You will need to have worked with manufacturing processes (e.g six sigma), logistics, SAP and Supplier Management. You will need to have used an ERP system and have good communication and negotiation skills.

The deal

This has a minimum contract length of 6 months but it has potential to go on for up to 12 months. The rate of pay is dependant on experience, however is up to £23ltd per hour. We also support PAYE. The core working hours for this role equate to 37.5 with a half day Friday.
