Temporary Legal Secretary - Residential Conveyancing

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join one of our clients based in Portsmouth on a temporary basis. You will be needed from the 24th May 2018 - 15th June 2018 to provide support to the Residential Conveyancing Department.

They are offering a salary of £10-12 p/h but willing to be flexible, dependent upon experience. You will be working full-time, 9:00 - 17:15 with an hour for lunch.

You will require the following skills and experience:

  • Must have significant experience of working in a Residential Conveyancing department
  • Must be experienced in delivering a high standard administrative service
  • Will have strong organisational skills and will be able to prioritise effectively
  • Will be a strong team player and can work on their own initiative.
  • Have a working knowledge of using a Case Management system
  • Will be proficient in IT and possess Word skills
  • Will be willing undertake transcription of digital dictation
  • Can manage a Solicitor's diary effectively

Your main duties:

Your role will involve you providing a high level of secretarial support to the Residential Conveyancing Department and will undertake transcription of digital dictation. You will be liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, managing agents and other third parties, as well as compiling, checking and producing word documents and reports. You will be conducting telephone calls to all parties involved in any property transaction and compiling letters to all parties involved in property matters. Other duties include submitting applications and dealing with Land Registry, Local Councils and other third party organisations, then assembling documents / attachments to emails and letters. You will assist the Residential Conveyancing Department with file opening, file closing and working with Accounts Department to manage account balances.
