Job Description

Are you an experienced Test Development Engineer with a strong background in Design and Electrical Engineering? Do you have experience with LabView and Software Development? If you do, this Test Development Engineer role working for an innovative manufacturer is for you!

This Test Development Engineer role is working for a company in Welham Green, Hertfordshire. They are offering very flexible hours, core hours being 9:30am to 5pm. The role is also paying a salary of around £45,000 depending on experience. This is also a Hybrid role.

This role is for a company who specialise in the manufacture of test equipment for the fire detection and safety industry. They are a very innovative company working within a very niche and growing market.

The successful candidate, who becomes the Test Development Engineer will have a range of responsibilities and duties. The main duty of the role is to help design innovative and viable test solutions. One aspect of the role will be the design of PCB and circuits. This includes the design of drawings and schematics. This may also include the hands on practical aspects such as wiring. There will also be the design of equipment that will be used to test products and components during production. With this, there will also be the element of providing documentation such as PCB interfaces, SOP's and instructions. There may also be an element of training employees on how to use designed equipment. Another aspect of the role is the Software design and development, as the role also includes software and firmware. Therefore, in this role as a Test Development Engineer, there is the theoretical design work as well as the more practical hands on lab work. LabView is also used regularly to help fully automate processes and test equipment.

You will need:

  • A strong background in electrical engineering
  • Experience designing test equipment, PCB and Circuits
  • Experience designing and developing software
  • Experience with LabView and Altium software
  • Experience with both theoretical design and hands on practical work
  • To be able to take ownership and responsibility
  • Excellent communication
