Are you great with numbers?? Have some form of costing, estimating, reconciliation experience already and would be keen to forge a career within the lucrative world of Estimating in Construction? This is a HUGE opportunity for the right person, to use existent numerical experience and attention to detail together with the right attitude to learn the ropes of Estimating from a seasoned Estimator, soak up and learn and become a fully-fledged Construction Estimator in time - with the possibilities for an Estimator in Construction transferable across all of developing world it's a very very exciting career to be in!!

This role is based on site, in Braintree Essex at their HQ, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday 8 to 5pm, working for a construction company who have been established for 60 years, have up to 30 construction sites running at any one time and can offer fantastic development to all their junior and trainee professionals across the UK.

In this role you'll check quantities, use common sense, check, put figures in formularisations via excel, utilise their CRM system and by being great with numbers and data you'll be able to identify areas to save money by bringing in the right priced the steel.

You'll importantly be supported by a highly seasoned estimating professional who can act as your mentor and you can learn decades worth of experience from the Senior Estimator.

What do I need?

  • Demonstrable experience in estimating/costing or similar already
  • Good computer skills, Excel, Microsoft Word
  • Live within a reasonable commute as this role is based in the office in Braintree and may involve travelling on occasions locally.
  • Great work ethic
  • Strong communicator with influence
  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly and want to take on more.
