Job Description

Do you have experience as an estimator within an electrical environment? Do you have any experience with or an understanding of CAD? If so, this Trainee Estimator role is for you!

This Trainee Estimator role is working for a company based in Southampton. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm. The role is also paying a salary up to £30,000. The role is onsite only.

The company design, produce and implement computer-based systems, tailored and customised to meet the needs of clients within the electricity supply industry. This includes a range of different hardware, software and panels to be used as part of their data collecting metering equipment.

The successful candidate will be required to develop accurate estimates for designs and builds. They will also be required to ensure all customer requirements are taken into account. They will also be responsible for development of scheme designs, proposals and tenders. They will do so by using software such as AutoCAD. The successful candidate will also need to liaise with customer and production teams to ensure estimates and developments are correct, meet the client needs and information is accurate. They will also need to use project and documentation management systems to upload estimates and ensure everything is aligned with the correct projects.

You will need:

• Experience and knowledge with estimating, ideally within an electrical environment

• Knowledge and experience with CAD would be preferable

• Experience and understanding of Microsoft applications

• Excellent numerical skills

• Able to determine information from documents including technical drawings

• Keen eye to detail
