Job Description

Travel Agent (Nights)

Do you have a passion for travel? Would you prefer to avoid the rush hour traffic and work night shifts? If so read on for this brilliant opportunity.

We are currently recruiting for a Travel Agent for an international organisation with offices based in the Portsmouth area. The main purpose of this role is to service all customer travel requirements for the company. Delivering an excellent customer service at all times which will include providing travel advice, the processing of bookings and dealing with changes at short notice to ensure that all travel requirements are arranged in the most efficient and professional manner.

Please note this role is to cover a time zone difference for other countries so will be night shifts on a rota basis between 9pm and 6pm the following day.

Duties to include:

  • To provide excellent customer service at all times in line with the standard and guidelines set out by the Quality Assurance Department, to enhance the customer experience.
  • Have the ability to comprehend, capture, as well as interpret customer information, ensuring you take ownership of the full customer journey experience by following through with all commitments.
  • Arranging all aspects of a customer's holidays requirements to include flights, hotels, packages, and ancillaries.
  • Selling travel products to meet targets whilst building customer interests in all the services and products offered by the company, whilst meeting all requirements of the customer.
  • Deliver sales, service and productivity targets in line with the guidelines set by the productivity department.
  • Dealing with customer complaints and difficult situations appropriately e.g. flight delays.

Suitable candidates will:

  • Ideally have previous experience working within the travel industry either face to face or over the phone however candidates with strong customer service experience will be considered
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  • Positive and proactive approach
  • High standards of Customer Service
  • Handling minor complaints
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office
  • NVQ in Customer Service of Equivalent (Desirable)

Successful candidates will benefit from a desirable basic salary of £18,400 which includes an overnight shift allowance and a fantastic benefits package.
