We are now recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join the team!

Summary of Role:

This is a frontline leadership role encompassing full process ownership for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, this will cover goods-in and the general warehouse team with a total of 5 direct reports. You will ensure tha the optimum level of stock is kept in the warehouse to ensure effective supply ot product and best utilisation of space. You will be responsible for communicating tactical team goals through team meetings and will be tasked with training new Operators whilst supporting the delivery goal of world class performance through the management of KPI's.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Resource planning to mximise efficiency and ensure operational success
  • Manage and perform necessary data maintenance of the warehouse management system (WMS) this will entail location creating, product setup, cycle counting creation and planning, picklist management and account admin.
  • Support Continuous improvement projects (as required) to deliver positive change to the department (primarily related to SQDIC).
  • Identify training needs for both new and existing staff and ensure training matrix is updated accordingly.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner through the implementation and management of risk assessments and ensuring correct PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and practices are used where relevant.
  • Practical understanding of each team members role to enable active holiday / sickness to cover where required.
  • Liaising with other teams within the organisation to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Lead Tier 1 meeting to identify and resolve issues pertaining to SQDIC.
  • Conduct cycle count activities and ensure inventories in warehouse area are accurate in line with Nidec targets. >97%
  • Role holder will be responsible for time management system (TMS) logging sickness and approving holiday. Sorting time discrepancies and reasons why and escalating issues where required.
  • Role holder will be responsible for absence notification and return to work.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 3 years experience in a warehouse environment
  • Experience as a Supervisor
  • Computer Literate
  • Good understanding of planning warehouse processes
  • Good knowledge of warehouse management systems

Working hours are Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:00, Friday a nice early finish at 14:45, ready for the weekend. There is plenty of overtime available.
