We are currently recruiting for a Welding Lead Hand to help direct and lead a team of experienced welders in our machine-shop in New Milton. We are on the look-out for individuals with a strong background in manufacturing and previous experience in management and leading teams of engineers.
This role would see you motivating, organising and directing the welding team, who are one of the busiest and most important teams on the shop floor. You would remain in constant contact with your team, with the Quality Assurance department and with the Stores Team to support and guide the welding team as they weld down to very fine tolerances on products which will find themselves in the nuclear, aerospace and medical industries.
Using your team leadership and people management skills your role will be to lead, motivate and direct the weld team whilst liaising with various other departments, ensuring the projects will be in on time and the stores team has the required materials. You will also be in charge of ensuring any issues in the process are dealt with as well as document, assess and communicate all non-conformities and short-comings to other department heads.

The Perfect Candidate
As the perfect candidate, you will be required to have a strong background in manufacturing, and any background in welding obviously a real plus. However, the biggest requirement for this role is very much the people management experience. The welding team constitutes fifteen people, and is one of the most pivotal elements for the whole company.
This is a permanent role, meaning a secure position and is a fantastic opportunity for progression. The shifts you'll be required to work are day shifts (which is 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 to 12:30 on Friday) although you will be expected to remain in contact and touch base with the welders as they work other shifts, including night shift. The salary of £33,000 per annum comes with competitive benefits (including gift cards, bespoke deals on food and shopping) as well as a very desirable pension scheme.
