Job Description:

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer to join their procurement team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing their supply chain, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials essential for their aerospace projects. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, coordinating with various internal departments, and achieving procurement targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best possible deals.
  • Regular Meetings and Reporting: Conduct regular meetings with suppliers and internal teams. Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and market trends.
  • Liaison Activities: Work closely with the Goods In and Goods Out teams, Material Planners, and overseas offices to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery of materials.
  • Target and Quota Achievement: Strive to meet and exceed procurement targets and quotas, contributing to the overall success of the company.
  • High Standards Compliance: Ensure all procurement and buying activities comply with the stringent standards required in aerospace engineering, maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the aerospace engineering industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and present findings.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with procurement and buying software and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations is a plus.
  • No formal qualifications are needed.
