Job Description

Are you an experienced Machine Operator with a background in sheet metal fabrication? Are you able to read and interpret engineering drawings and have some knowledge of welding? If so, this opportunity to join a company as part of their new project for 12 months as an Automated Machine Welder is a great opportunity!

This Machine Operator position is a great opportunity, working for a filtration manufacturer in New Milton. The company have recently secured a massive project and are now looking to grow to their team! This position is on the late shift. The lates shift pattern is 3pm - Midnight, Monday to Thursday, and 11am - 4pm on a Friday. The late shift pattern pays up to £18.12 an hour.

The successful Machine Operator will have a variety of responsibilities within their role. The main focus of the role is operating semi-automated welding machines. Therefore, this requires preparing and setting up the machine to weld filters and components together with secure seals. There is some pre-weld preparation, as well as preparing packs and sheet metal fabrication. There will be the requirement to operate machinery such as a Guillotine, Roller, Brake Press and Press machines. Being able to read engineering drawings is also important. Another responsibility of this Machine Operator is to ensure the work area is kept clean and tidy, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and Health and Safety at all times.

You will need:

  • Experience with operating and preparing machinery
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication
  • Knowledge of welding and to be able to interpret engineering drawings
  • To be able to follow engineering procedures and have a methodical approach
  • To be able to adhere to company guidelines and policies
  • To be able to follow documented process controls
